Curious Corner   (1)
What is the Dia de Muertos?

Dia de Muertos or Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday for friends and family to remember loved ones who have passed and support their spiritual journey.

Each year Señor Flannery leads us in this beautiful tradition of honoring those in our lives who have passed. Students are invited to bring in photos of departed family or friends to add to the ofrenda (alter). No pets, please. All photos should be brought in by Friday, Oct 27, labeled with the student’s name.

Green Monkey will provide a special buffet lunch on Nov 1 of tamales, Spanish rice, beans, and fruit. If you don’t normally order lunch and would like your students to participate, you can sign up here.

Wreath and Poinsettia Sale Starts Soon!

Stay tuned for details. You will want to resist buying elsewhere – these wreaths and poinsettias are not to be missed as they have a certain je ne sais quois – too hard to describe their beauty! Consider asking neighbors and friends to purchase…nothing like a full block or hallway of the same wreath to get the holidays going.
